Staff of the Departments of Education and Children’s Services in all Australian States, in  particular the  South Australian Futures Connect team, have all done groundwork on individual learning plans and transition portfolios that preceded MyPlan.  This version of MyPlan is the result of considerable research and discussion beginning with a visit to Western Australia in 2004 and seeing some of the portfolio work done by students of various public and private schools.
I have been helped in this project by many students at Hamilton Secondary College.  The 2006 Year 10 English class of Jeff Daniels were the first to try using MS Powerpoint to create their own transition portfolios.  In 2007, the Year 9 care group of Craig Sheering were the first to use an early draft of MyPlan.  The Year 9 care group was followed by the Year 10 SOSE classes of Peter Shaw and Cenz Lancione.
Pater Shaw’s two SOSE classes submitted their MyPlan electronically for assessment while Cens Lancione’s SOSE class printed and handed in for assessment a “handout” in "9 slide" format.
The teachers at Hamilton Secondary College have been very supporting.  The “Futures Connect and Career Development” Focus Group met several times during the course of the project and made a number of useful suggestions as did a number of other staff members in response to the distribution of 11 discussion papers on the project throughout 2007.

The members of the Inner South Career and Transition Action Team under the leadership of Peter Leolkes, Transition Broker, provided encouragement and suggested further development work on what became MyPlan in this format.
The Senior Management Team at Hamilton Secondary College also made time available for discussion on the direction the project was taking and on implementing MyPlan at HSC.
